Terms of Service

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TrussLab (the "Software" and related website and licensing services), operated by TrussLab ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the TrussLab web application, visiting our website, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription or license, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or our services.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, using the Software, or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and any Privacy Policy or privacy notice we publish. If you are using TrussLab on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

1. The Software

TrussLab is provided as a web application, used in your browser, for structural engineering workflows, including modeling, analysis, optimization, and related tasks. Calculations are performed by the TrussLab engine and the results returned to you; your projects are saved in your browser's storage on your own device or downloaded as files.

The Software may include:

  • Use of the web application in your browser on authorized devices
  • Project files, exports, and outputs you generate and save on your device
  • Account sign-in, subscription, and license validation through our online services
  • Subscription-based features and limits as described in your plan
  • Connection of third-party AI services you authorize

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Software or related services at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Software and our services.

By using the Software, you represent that:

  • You are a professional or authorized user
  • You will use the Software only for lawful purposes

3. Accounts and Security

3.1 Account creation

You must create an account to access certain features (for example, licensing and subscription management). You agree to provide accurate and complete information.

3.2 Account responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account

We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access caused by your failure to secure your account.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments

4.1 Subscription plans

TrussLab offers free trials and paid subscription plans (monthly, yearly, and enterprise or team plans where applicable). Features and limits vary by plan.

4.2 Payment processing

All payments, subscriptions, taxes, and refunds for online subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record for those transactions.

  • TrussLab does not store or process payment card details
  • Billing, refunds, and consumer rights for those purchases are governed by Dodo Payments' applicable terms (including buyer terms at checkout)

4.3 Renewals

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date, as described at purchase or in your account.

4.4 Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or Dodo Payments' customer flows. Cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing period, unless stated otherwise by Dodo Payments or applicable law.

4.5 Refunds and consumer cancellation

Online purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. Refunds, consumer cancellation rights, and related terms are governed by Dodo Payments' buyer terms and applicable law.

For details, see Dodo Payments Buyer Terms.

5. Enterprise / Team Accounts (If Applicable)

For enterprise or team subscriptions:

  • One or more administrators may manage seats and users
  • Administrators can invite, remove, and manage members
  • You are responsible for all activity within your organization account
  • Seat limits must not be exceeded. Additional seats may require an upgraded subscription.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Software, except where mandatory law allows
  • Bypass subscription limits, license checks, or technical safeguards
  • Use any connected service to bypass subscription limits or technical safeguards
  • Use the Software for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Software, our services, or their infrastructure

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Project Data and User Content

7.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of your project data, models, and files you create or store with the Software, and of exported outputs you generate.

7.2 Processing of your models

Your projects stay with you. Projects are saved in your browser's storage on your own device or downloaded as files. To calculate analysis, design checks, and optimization, the model you are working on is sent to the TrussLab engine, which returns the results. We use it only to produce those results; we do not keep it in a database or use it to train AI or machine-learning models.

Projects held in browser storage may be lost if browser data is cleared or the device is changed. TrussLab holds no copy of your projects and cannot recover them. You are responsible for maintaining backups, for example by downloading project files.

7.3 Account and license connectivity

The Software and website may connect to TrussLab or authorized third parties for account sign-in, subscription or license validation, trial activation, checkout, password recovery, support, or optional updates. Those connections may transmit technical and account-related information needed to provide those features—for example, authentication tokens, license status, or a device identifier used for entitlement—not your project files for cloud-based solving.

7.4 No AI or ML training on your engineering content

We do not collect your project data, models, analysis results, or other engineering content for the purpose of training machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models, and such content is not used to improve generalized AI systems. A material change to this practice would require an update to these Terms (or a dedicated notice) and, where required, your consent.

7.5 Responsibility

CRITICAL: No liability for structural outcomes

TrussLab shall not be liable for damages, failures, injuries, losses, or other consequences arising from your use of outputs generated by the Software, except to the extent such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law. This includes, but is not limited to, structural failures, building collapses, property damage, personal injury, or any other harm.

YOU ARE FULLY AND SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Verifying the accuracy of all outputs before use in any project
  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable engineering standards, building codes, and regulations
  • Thoroughly reviewing and validating all analysis results, designs, and documentation
  • Conducting independent engineering analysis to confirm the suitability of outputs for your specific project
  • All consequences of using TrussLab outputs in actual construction or design projects

IMPORTANT: TrussLab is a computational support tool only. It does NOT replace professional engineering judgment, independent verification, or quality control. All outputs must be reviewed, validated, and approved by qualified professional engineers before use in any actual project. You assume all risks and liabilities associated with the use of the Software and its outputs.

7.6 Third-party AI services

The Software permits you to connect third-party AI services of your choosing. Where you elect to do so:

  • Such services act on your instruction and under your account. All actions they perform, including changes to models, designs and settings, and any consumption of plan allowances, are deemed to be performed by you.
  • TrussLab does not control, endorse or warrant any third-party AI service, and accepts no liability for its actions, outputs or availability.
  • Your use of any such service is governed by the provider's own terms of service and privacy policy, which you should review before connecting it.
  • Outputs produced with the assistance of any such service are subject to Section 7.5 and must be independently verified in the same manner as all other outputs of the Software.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Software—including software, design, branding, and documentation—are owned by TrussLab.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software in accordance with these Terms and your active subscription or license, where applicable.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software and related services are provided "as is" and "as available."

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy of results
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

Engineering outputs must always be independently reviewed by qualified professionals.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

(a) In no event shall TrussLab be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or costs of substitute services, arising out of or related to the use of or inability to use the Software or services, even if TrussLab has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

(b) TrussLab's total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Software or services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the Software in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

(c) This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise.

Engineering tool specific: In no event shall TrussLab be liable for any construction defects, structural failures, or professional design decisions made using outputs generated by the Software.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TrussLab from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:

  • Your use of the Software
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your professional use of generated outputs

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access:

  • If you violate these Terms
  • If required by law
  • For security or operational reasons

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Software and online services may end
  • Subscription benefits cease subject to Dodo Payments' terms and applicable law
  • Certain data may be handled in accordance with any privacy notice we publish or our documented retention practices

Termination does not entitle you to any refund for prepaid fees, except as required by applicable law or Dodo Payments' refund policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Continued use of the Software or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Contact Information

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us via the Contact page (also linked in the site footer) on the TrussLab website. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
